New Delhi: In a latest development, Arvinder Singh Lovely has assumed the role of the new president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, as officially announced by party president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday.

This marks Arvinder Singh Lovely's return to the position of president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, a role he has previously held. His appointment comes after a competitive race that also saw Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit vying for the same post.

Arvinder Singh Lovely's tenure will see him succeed Anil Chaudhary in the role of president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, bringing new leadership and vision to the party.

Meanwhile, a pivotal event is set to take place in Maharashtra's Mumbai on August 31 and September 1—the third meeting of the INDIA alliance. Attended by a conglomerate of 28 political parties, the meeting will delve into critical discussions surrounding alliance strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and the intricacies of seat sharing among states.

A significant highlight of the event is the potential unveiling of a new logo for the INDIA alliance, symbolizing unity and shared purpose among the participating parties. The alliance, formed as a concerted effort to counter the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), headed by Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), aims to thwart the latter's pursuit of a third consecutive term in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Having convened previously in Patna on June 23 and followed by a subsequent meeting in Bengaluru on July 17-18, this third meeting in Mumbai is of paramount importance as opposition leaders collaboratively strategize to shape the political landscape in the run-up to the 2024 elections.
