Owaisi, MP from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, has said, 'NPR has nothing to do with census and social welfare schemes. This proposal has been brought because earlier the Telangana government had requested the Modi government of the Center to remove this bill last year but the central government did not do so. The Telangana government had said on this issue that the central government cannot divide people on religious grounds through the CAA. Recently the Center has said that the process of NPR will start from April 1.
