Amid the hijab controversy, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, 'Women keep a veil over the head, not over the mind'. Yes, he has given this statement in Rajasthan today. He said, ''Hijab is an essential religious practice for Muslims. It is an expression of culture. If government schools are allowing other religious symbols, why not the hijab. This is also a right of women. The woman puts the hijab on her head, not on her mind.''

Let us tell you that a few months ago, girls wearing hijabs were barred from going to class in schools in Karnataka. At the same time, after this the issue took hold. The matter has reached the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court has also asked to complete the hearing on this matter by Friday. In fact, a bench of Justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia on Monday asked the lawyers to complete their arguments on September 16. After that, the state government will be given two days to present its stand.

On the other hand, senior advocates Salman Khurshid and MH Muchhala argued on behalf of the petitioners on Monday. Khurshid said 'Whatever is written in the Quran is mandatory.' During this, Khurshid showed the pictures of the Burqa, Hijab and Jilbab and explained their difference. Apart from this, he said that culture is important because culture leads to identity. The dress code doesn't mean I can't wear anything other than that which is important to my culture or religion. Muchhala, on the other hand, said that denial of entry to girl students for wearing the hijab results in denying them access to education.
