Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has hit out at Bollywood star Akshay Kumar over the actor's interview of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While addressing a speech at Mumbai's Bhiwandi, Owaisi mocked the interview, the interviewer, the interviewee as well as the interview questions. Taking a dig, Owaisi said Modi brought in an actor to interview him at his residence after television anchors failed to meet his expectations.

Akshay Kumar's 'non-political interview' with the Prime Minister had created numerous headlines, both for its content as well as for Opposition parties' response, though none had attacked Akshay Kumar directly till Owaisi entered the fray.
“Because TV anchors were not acting well, Modi said I will bring in a better actor. He brought in a better actor. And what question does the actor asks: Aap aam kaat kar khate ho ya choos kar khate hain? Yeh koi sawaal hai? Arre deewane tereko aam khana nahin aata aur puch raha hai kaat ke khate hain ya choos ke khate hain. Aam mila toh khana padta hai usko,” Owaisi said at a public meeting on Friday.
The Congress response was to hit out at PM Modi. Reacting to the interview, Randeep Surjewala said: "It seems a failed politician who is about to be rejected on May 23, 2019, is looking for an alternative employment avenue in Bollywood, but I don't think so, a failed politician like Modi ji will be a successful actor in Bollywood. Akshay Kumar will remain Akshay Kumar."
