Today is the birthday of the Country's Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.  Ashwini Vaishnaw is a 1994 batch IAS cadet. He has held the charge of Collector at Balasore in Odisha and Collector at Cuttack. Ashwini Vaishnaw is a Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha. Ashwini Vaishnaw was born on July 18, 1971, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.  Ashwini Vaishnaw's father's name is Daulal Vaishnaw.  The mother's name of Ashwini Vaishnaw is Saraswati Vaishnaw.  Daulal Vaishnaw originally belonged to The Vivacious Kala Gram in Pali district, but came to Jodhpur from Pali in 1966 to study.  Thereafter, he started living in Jodhpur.  Ashwini Vaishnaw's wife's name is Sunita Vaishnaw.  Ashwini Vaishnaw and Sunita Vaishnaw got married on February 15, 1995.

Ashwini Vaishnaw has completed her schooling from Delhi Public School. Thereafter, Ashwini Vaishnaw did her B. Tech from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. After this Ashwini Vaishnaw studied M Tech at IIT Kanpur. Also, Ashwini Vaishnaw has done MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his education, Ashwini Vaishnaw started preparing for civil service and got success in the year 1994. Ashwini Vaishnaw is a 1994 batch IAS officer. He did a good job while being an IAS officer. As the Collector of Balasore, Ashwini Vaishnaw handled the disaster situation well. After this, Ashwini Vaishnaw was made the District Magistrate of Cuttack during the tenure of Naveen Patnaik. After living in Odisha till the year 2003, Ashwini Vaishnaw was called to the PM's office and he was made the Deputy Secretary to the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Ashwini Vaishnaw was the Deputy Chairman of Goa Port for about one and a half years.

In the year 2008, Ashwini Vaishnaw moved to the US for two years to study and after returning from there, he resigned from his job as an IAS officer.  After this, he held the post of Vice President to Director in many private companies.  Ashwini Vaishnaw also set up manufacturing units of auto equipment in Gujarat. During Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure as deputy secretary, Ashwini Vaishnaw developed good contacts with many BJP leaders. Narendra Modi is also among these leaders. On the other hand, during the IAS officer's job in Odisha, he also had good relations with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. Thus, Ashwini Vaishnaw also acted as a bridge between the BJP and BJD alliance in Odisha.
