Asrani completed her study in 1966 at the Film Institute in Pune. But films were not working. Then he became an instructor in his own institute. That is why Rishikesh Mukherjee reached there with Gulzar. Seeing them, Asrani told them that Dada, you had asked me to give me work. To this, Mukherjee replied, "Will you work, first tell me who Jaya Bhaduri is?" Jaya Bhaduri was a student of Asrani, who still calls Asrani 'Sir'. Asrani had joined Amitabh Bachchan's wedding as Jaya's brother in the presence of a few people. Meanwhile, Asrani asked Gulzar why Rishi Da has come, so he told- “We have come to find Goddess.”

Let me tell you, the casting of Goody was going on during that time. In this movie he got the role of a boy who comes to Mumbai to become a hero. But he becomes a junior artist there. But the days changed and Asrani also got big work offers. After this film, he was taken by Rishikesh Mukherjee in each of his films till "Fine" (1979).
