In the ongoing border dispute between Assam and Mizoram, the representatives of the two states have signed the border dispute agreement but the dispute still does not seem to be coming to an end. Now, in the whole matter, Assam MP Badruddin Ajmal said, "All our neighboring states have taken part of our land. This matter should be resolved at the earliest." At the same time, Assam MP Badruddin Ajmal also said, "The border dispute should be resolved soon. In this matter, I will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah today and also write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.''

On the other hand, the people's representatives of the two states jointly issued a statement saying, "On the state border, the two states will not send their forest and police forces for patrolling, domination, enforcement or fresh deployment in areas where there was a clash between the police forces of the two states in recent times." It has been decided to include all disputed areas of Karimganj, Hailakandi, and Cachar districts of Assam and Mamit and Kolasib districts of Mizoram along the Assam-Mizoram border.

The joint statement was signed by Assam Border Security and Development Minister Atul Bora and Commissioner and Secretary of the Department GD Tripathi and Mizoram Home Minister Lalmaliana and Home Secretary Vanlalangasaka. Earlier, the people's representatives of both Assam and Mizoram have signed an agreement in the recent past. In fact, both states have agreed to resolve the inter-State border dispute amicably.

Following the talks, the Assam government had decided to cancel the advisory issued earlier against the visit to Mizoram and both the State Governments had also welcomed the deployment of neutral force by the Government of India to maintain peace in the inter-State border areas.
