Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates 'Amrit Kanan' in Nagaon

Today Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, inaugrated "Amrit Kanan," a park in Nagaon, Assam, built by the Nagaon Municipality Board to honour India's 75th anniversary of independence.

Beside the Circuit House, the Amrit Park has been constructed, where sculptures of great persons will be built in their honour. Statues commemorating Nagaon independence warriors Mahendra Nath Hazarika, Haladar Bhuyan, Debakanta Baruah, and Purna Kanta Sarma have been erected in the park. New statues of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi, Anandaram Dhekiyal Phukan, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru were also constructed at the "Amrit Kanan."

 

The Chief Minister took the initiative to display well-known national and state leaders for children and young people to learn about India's heroes. A garden area, seating places, and excellent lighting greet guests at the park. After opening the park, CM Sarma also dedicated a new bridge at Anandaram Dhekiyal Phukan Setu.
