Recently, there was in the news that Former CM Tarun Gogoi's health is not well these days. In this row, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today called Gaurav Gogoi, MP from Koliabor and son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi regarding an update on the former Chief Minister's health who is undergoing treatment at the ICU in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. Tarun Gogoi is undergoing treatment at GMCH for post-COVID complications. His oxygen levels had slipped yesterday and that is when he was rushed to the ICU from the paying cabin of GMCH.

Chief Minister Sonowal has asked GMCH Principal, Dr. Achyut Baishya and the team of doctors attending on Tarun Gogoi to take all care and explore every option to ensure the best and appropriate medical care for the state's senior-most political leader. Earlier in the day today, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a video conference with Randeep Guleria, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi to discuss the further course of treatment of the veteran Congress leader.

The team of GMCH doctors taking care of Former CM Gogoi, Superintendent, GMCH Dr. Abhijit Sharma, and Gaurav Gogoi were present at the video conference meeting. Randeep would be visiting GMCH over the weekend to check on Tarun Gogoi's health and discuss further the course of treatment for the veteran Congress leader.
