Guwahati: Former CM and Senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has been admitted to the ICU due to falling oxygen levels in his body. Gogoi, 85, was found to be Coronavirus positive on August 25, after which he was admitted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Even after being free of infection, Gogoi continued to seek treatment in the hospital.
The Superintendent of the hospital, Abhijeet Sarma, has told that Gogoi is already battling many diseases and has been admitted to the ICU after the oxygen level is low with some problems in the lungs. Abhijeet Sarma said, 'However, Gogoi's health is stable and we are constantly monitoring his health. Right now he is on ventilator support
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that GMCH officials will discuss the situation of former CM Gogoi on Friday morning through a video conference with doctors of AIIMS in New Delhi. He said, 'If the need arises, we are ready to take them to Delhi. I have already spoken to his son Gaurav Gogoi. The Superintendent of GMCH said, 'Gogoi is in a position to talk at the moment, but is very tired. We are taking full care of them.
