Former CM Tarun Gogoi's condition critical, team of 9 doctors engaged in treatment

Guwahati: Former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi has been ill for a long time. It is reported that the condition of former CM Tarun Gogoi has worsened on Monday. Doctors treating him have said that his condition is "extremely critical". Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College Abhijit Sharma said that Gogoi, who has passed the age of 80 years, is being looked after by a team of nine doctors. The treatment of 84-year-old Congress leader is going on in Gauhati Medical College.

He has also said, "The current health condition of the former CM is very critical and doctors are trying hard to improve his health." Assam Health Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma along with Gogoi's son Gaurav are present at GMCH. Gogoi is on ventilator right now and many of his organs are not functioning properly. He underwent dialysis on Sunday, which lasted for six hours. Gogoi was admitted to GMCH on November 2, after which his health deteriorated and he was put on ventilator on Saturday night.

Let us tell you that Tarun Gogoi has been the Chief Minister of Assam for three consecutive times. He has held the CM's chair for three consecutive terms from 2001 to 2016. Gogoi, who was former CM, was discharged from the hospital on October 25 after recovering from a corona infection. Gogoi was found infected with covid-19 on 25 August and was admitted to the hospital the next day. He was in the hospital for two months.
