Guwahati: The Assam government has also included sanitary napkins in the list of relief materials provided to women and adolescent girls affected by floods and other natural calamities. Taking note of this, the order has informed all District Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Sub Divisional Officers (SDO) (Civil) that the menstrual management of adolescent girls in flood prone areas due to emergency had not been included in the relief measures so far. As per the order, women and adolescent girls face various and health problems in taking care of menstrual hygiene due to floods.
