Guwahati: Leader of the opposition party in Assam Assembly, Devabrata Saikia, has termed the center's intentions on the CAB and NRC as unsuitable. He has asked the question, why the government of Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan calling for the Hindu refugees does not see the oppressed Tamil Hindus of Sri Lanka and the Hindus of Myanmar, etc.

Saikia has said that this simply means that this government is mean. The reason for keeping Tamil Hindus out is clear. The population of these Tamil Hindus kept in more than one hundred camps in Tamil Nadu is only around 60 thousand. Saikia said that he is not going to get any special benefit from using them as a special vote bank. He asked the question, why the Center has worried Hindus of three countries. Hindus are oppressed in many other countries as well.

Saikia said that this bill is completely contrary to the basic spirit of the Constitution. It should be withdrawn. There is no need to introduce CAB in such haste. He has also expressed deep concern over the preparation of NRC again in Assam. He has said that 19 lakh people have left due to policies, not by mistake.
