A man has been accused of attempting to rape a pregnant woman by locals in Nagaon's Rangaloo area. Jibon Patar, a local resident, was identified as the culprit. According to witnesses, he and another person tried to abduct and rape a pregnant woman in the area on Sunday night, but the locals interfered after hearing the woman's screams.

Patar has earlier been involved in such incidents, according to a local woman who did not want to be named. She and other neighbours also added that despite repeated complaints, the police had taken no action against the accused.

The police, on the other hand, stated that they are conducting an enquiry to determine the truth about the incident.
