Guwahati: Tension continues in both states amid border dispute in Assam-Mizoram. Mizoram police have registered a case against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday. He will be happy to be involved in the investigation. The Assam CM tweeted on Saturday, "I will be very happy to be involved in any investigation. But why was the matter not handed over to a neutral agency, especially when the matter has taken place within the legal area of Assam? I have already reached Jormathanga Ji (Mizoram Chief Minister).''

The Mizoram police have registered criminal cases against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, four senior officers of the state police, and two other officers in connection with the violence on the outskirts of Vairengte Nagar in Kolasim city. Police said this on Friday.

The same Mizoram Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) John N said that the persons have been booked under sections including an attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy. He said an FIR was filed by the state police at Vairengte police station late on Monday night following violent clashes between Mizoram and Assam police force near Seemant Nagar. It also said that cases have also been registered against 200 unidentified employees of Assam Police.
