Kamrup: A mob, which went to solve the case of mob lynching in Hailakandi district of Assam, attacked the police and injured 12 people. The in-charge of Hailakandi police station was also injured in this attack. It is reported that the police mob went to suggest a case of lynchings being carried out on a group of people, but the angry mob attacked the police itself. This incident is from Nitainagar in Hailakandi district.

It is reported that Hemanta Kumar Dus, Ashok Chakraborty, Alagpur Barat Chandrakar and 2 CRPF jawans have been seriously injured in this attack. All of them have been admitted to the Silchar Medical College for treatment. It is being told that the police constable land Hussain was taken to Lashkar Bazaar, a weekly market in Nitinagar, along with 9 policemen. But in the meantime, a crowd of people started beating them, considering some as child thieves. While solving this case, the police also fell victim to the attack.
