GUWAHATI: Police in Asam's Morigaon district on Thursday arrested three persons, including a woman. Heroin worth more than Rs 3 crore was seized from these people. The police gave information in this regard on Thursday. Police said the operation was carried out on the secret information of the informer.
According to media reports, the additional superintendent of police Lal Barua has informed about the case that secret information was received from the informer that some people were going with drugs. Following this information, the police reached the place mentioned by the informer and started the investigation.
Police recovered 390 grams of heroin during the search of the vehicle, police said, adding that the heroin was being transported to 28 soapboxes. The value of the recovered heroin is said to be more than Rs 3 crore. Police said the case is being investigated. All the three accused have been arrested and further action is on.
