People suffering mental problems in lockdown, ASDMA providing emotional support

Guwahati: Psychological and emotional support is being provided by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) during a nationwide lockdown, especially for the population of children and the elderly. Along with the necessary materials of the house, a psychiatric doctor has also been arranged. For this, a volunteer-led call center support system has come up at village and ward levels across the state.

The project, titled 'Pratidhi Bandhu', whose main objective is to identify potential volunteers of the community cadre of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission and National Urban Livelihoods Mission. Simultaneously working with other groups such as the Indian Red Cross Society, NGO, NSS, NCC and NYK. Giving information, Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna has said that ASDMA's efforts at the grassroots level to provide psychological and emotional support will go a long way in making the lockdown a success.

Project Coordinator Pankaj Chakraborty said that many people are struggling with stress and mental health issues due to the lockdown. Due to which fear of financial insecurity is also increasing in tension. Describe a preventive measure to fight Corona.
