A woman was caught by city police in Guwahati for reportedly stealing a large sum of money from an ATM machine in a major robbery. Shahida Begum, a native of Guwahati, Assam, has been identified as the thief woman.

The incident occurred on Thursday, January 27 in Guwahati's Latasil neighbourhood. The lady allegedly stole Rs. 65,000 from an ATM in Latasil, according to several reports. According to reports, police had been looking for the female thief for a long time due to her engagement in several robberies.

According to reports, Shahida Begum had a number of complaints filed against her at various police stations. The woman is now being held under police observation at the Panbazar police station until the outcome of the case's judicial processes.

Notably, a large number of robbery occurrences occur in various parts of the city and across the state on a regular basis, and a large number of robbery cases are reported at various police stations. On the 22nd of January, a guy was reportedly looted by a criminal in the Lachit Nagar district of Guwahati during a daylight robbery.

The man who works as an employee of an LPG dealer was robbed of Rupees 3,04,420 by the helmet-wearing thief. Later, the guy filed a police report against the thief at the city's Paltanbazar Police Station. Two SBI ATMs looted in the Bongaigaon region of Assam in the same month, with a squad of robbers taking away a substantial sum of money totaling Rs 40 lakh. The robbers used gas-cutters to grab the money from the ATM, and they also removed the security cameras to ensure that no trace of the crime remains.
