Shimla: Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Saturday inspected the Sissu Helipad in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed Lahaul visit to inaugurate the Atal Tunnel Rohtang. He also inspected the proposed tourist park along with Sissu Helipad. Chief Minister Jairam said that with the introduction of Atal Tunnel Rohtang, the economy will get strong.

Rohtang will be open for 12 months, and this will give great comfort to Lahaul. The Chief Minister further said that "It will be a historic moment when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Atal Tunnel. He said that the Manali-Leh rail line is also proposed. CM will visit Atal Tunnel Rohtang today. The Chief Minister will go from the South Portal to the North Portal, and will also hold a meeting with BRO officers. After that, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of the 64 crore project in Manali".

On the other hand, 26 new cases of coronavirus have come in the state on Saturday. 3 new cases have also been reported in Hamirpur 14, Shimla 6, Chamba 3 and Bilaspur. Two newborns of four days each are also positive in Hamirpur district. CMO Hamirpur Dr Archana Soni has confirmed the new cases. In Chamba, the figure for active has reached 403 with three new positive cases. There are 104 active cases and 294 patients have been cured. The total number of corona infected in the state has reached 5661.
