New Delhi: The Union Finance Ministry said that in the 7 months since May 2020, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been repaid by Central Agencies and Central Public Sector Enterprises for Rs 21,000 crore. In October 2020, the highest purchases of Rs 5,100 crore were made from MSME and they were paid Rs 4,100 crore.

Giving information, the Finance Ministry said that so far it has the data for the first 10 days of purchases made in November 2020. During this period, Rs 4,700 crore was purchased from MSME and Rs 4,000 crore has been paid. The ministry says that if purchases are made from MSME in the same way, it will break all previous records. Explain that in May 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the self-reliant India package, saying that the MSME dues should be repaid within 45 days.

Now Sitharaman expressed satisfaction during the review of MSME ministry payments. Finance Minister Sitharaman reviewed the progress of several schemes under the three Self-reliant India package. The Finance Ministry on Sunday said that banks have sanctioned loans worth Rs 2,05,563 crore to about 81 lakh accounts under the Rs 3 lakh crore Emergency Credit Facility Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) for MSME. Nearly 40 lakh MSME accounts have been given a loan of Rs 1,58,626 crore till December 4.
