Teachers training program by the government of Delhi has been gotten rejected by the Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s office. On Friday a statement has came from the office of Lieutenant Governor that no proposal on teacher’s training program by the government in Finland has been rejected.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has accused the Governor by targeting the BJP. The Raj Niwas wrote on Twitter. “The LG has not rejected the proposal of training program for primary-in-charges in Finland. Any statement on the contrary is misleading and mischievously motivated".
Manish Sisodia on Friday at a briefing has hitted the BJP over the ‘petty politics’, alleging a conspiracy behind the blocking of the program. He further said that the proposal has sent to the Delhi LG office in October for training program in December.
We have so far sent 1100 teachers to countries such as Singapore, Britain, and Finland for training but BJP wants to stall this now. SCERT has planned to send two groups of 30 primary in-charges at Jyvaskyla University in Finland in December 2022 and March 2023. It is a 5-day training program for primary in-charges of Delhi government schools and teacher educators of SCERT, as per the official records. SCERT has also made a budget provision in its annual plan and SCERT has been given a grant in aid by the Delhi government for conducting such training programmes.
The official release from the Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s office said, “The file of in-principle consent and administrative approval was received by the LG office on 25/10/2022. He returned the file to the Chief Secretary on 10/11/2022 seeking three clarifications/objections. SCERT Delhi clarified those points and re-submitted the file to the LG office on 14/12/2022. After this, LG asks for two more clarifications and returns the file to CM on 9/1/2023”.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that, “We have been sending Delhi government school teachers abroad for training, it has contributed greatly to Delhi Education Revolution; it is not right to stop them from going for training abroad.” To which Sisodia has also said that these restrictions on such trainings by the LG is an attack on education.
Sisodia also said, “Due to this international training, the confidence of teachers and school leaders has increased, and they now look at education from a global perspective.”
