Atul Kulkarni was born on 10 September 1965. Native of Karnataka and grew up in Solapur. He completed his Class X education at Haribhai Devkar High School, Solapur. Atul got admission in engineering college. Due to lack of interest in engineering, the DAV in Solapur was later closed down. Completed BA in English with Bachelor of Arts in English.
Kulkarni's first stint with the stage was during her high school days. He regularly participated in the Maharashtra State Drama Competition. Between 1989 and 1992, he won awards for acting and drama-directing. Later in his college days he actively participated in cultural celebrations.
While studying, Atul joined Natya Aradhana, a theater group from Solapur. Atul Kulkarni has done a postgraduate diploma in dramatic arts from the National School of Drama in New Delhi.
Atul is now a producer who has made his mark in more than 70 films in seven languages. His last film was 'Manikarnika' in which he played role of Tatya Tope.
Atul is married to actress Geetanjali at the age of 22, whom he used to love. Gitanjali and Atul have no children. In particular, both of them decided not to have children of their own. Atul said this in an interview.
Atul Kulkarni entered Hollywood through the film 'Singularity'. Along with Hindi and Marathi, he is also popular in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil films.
