Melbourne: Australia has included Darcy Short in place of injured fast bowler Sean Abbott in the Aaron Finch-led ODI squad for the tour of India. Abbott is out of the team after being injured in the Big Bash League. He will be away from the field for four weeks because of a side strain. The Australian team will begin their tour of India from the first ODI of the series to be played in Mumbai on 14 January.

The second and third ODIs will be played at Rajkot and Bengaluru on January 17 and January 19 respectively. The Australian squad already has Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Ken Richardson as pacers, so Darcy Short has been fielded in place of Sean Abbott. Darcy, 29, is a short-top order batsman and also bowls chinaman. He has played 4 ODIs and 20 T20 Internationals for Australia so far. Now he will be seen playing against India.
