Regarding the opening batting in the Test, Rohit said that he was ready for this from the 2018 Australia tour because the team management had started giving him signals since then. He said, "I was told that I could open in the Test. It was two years ago. I was preparing myself since then." The right-handed batsman said, "You want a chance. Everyone wants to play there. I want to play matches, not to watch."
