Melbourne: An Australian businessman bought the first baggy green test cap of legendary batsman Donald Bradman at auction for 450,000 Australian dollars (3,40,000 US dollars), the second-highest price for cricket memorabilia. Road Microphone founder Peter Freedman plans to roll this cap worn by Bradman during his Test debut in 1928 across Australia.

According to auction-related officials, the record for the highest amount of money for a cricket-related item is in the name of the test cap of Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, who in the same year was sold in 10 lakh 7 thousand 500 Australian dollars (7 hundred and 60 thousand US dollars). Don Bradman played cricket for Australia for 20 years. During this period, he played 52 Tests between 1928 and 1948. Bradman is considered the best batsman of all time in the world.

He was awarded a knighthood in 1949. Bradman has scored an average of 99.94 in Test cricket. Freedman said on Tuesday that Sir Don Bradman is Australia's greatest player. He is one of our most talented players on the playground as well as one of the all-time greatest players in the world.
