PERTH: Australia T20I skipper Aaron Finch has confirmed that he will return as the opener in the 2 remaining T20Is against England and the ICC T20 World Cup at home, after the 35-year-old dropping to No.4 in a couple of matches to give young all-rounder Cameron Green a few opportunities at the top.

The 23-year-old Green did well in the three-match series against England on Sunday after scoring two half-centuries in the away series against India. However, he has since struggled to post strong performances in the two-match series against the West Indies and the first match of the three-match series against England. Australia lost the game on Sunday in Perth by an eight-run margin as the tall all-arounder could only muster a single.

In order to prepare the team for any unforeseen circumstances that might emerge during the T20 World Cup Green was given the chance to begin the batting, Finch said. "We'll continue experimenting. For the following game, as was always the intention, I'm going to return to the top, "Before this week's second and third T20Is against England in Canberra, Finch spoke to Fox Cricket.

"toprepare for the World Cup, we would get to the first two (T20s against the West Indies) and then this game. Giving "Greeny" (Green) a chance at the top and encouraging him to keep trying new things was all that was involved. You must be ready after this brief burst, especially (with) guys recovering from numerous injuries "Finch added. So we're just trying to get as many games for Greeny in case he gets called up," Finch said.

While Green is not in the fifteen-member Australia squad for the T20 World Cup, there was speculation of late he could be a late inclusion.
