Beijing: China has taken a strong action amidst ongoing tension from Australia. Indeed, while doing this action, China has arrested Cheng Lei, an Australian news anchor working in its official TV channel. According to the information received, China has not yet clarified any reason for the arrest, but it has been suspected that it was all due to espionage.

Yes, this Australian anchor was working with the English-language channel CGTN and now there has been strong opposition from Canberra in view of China's move. According to an upcoming report, Anchor was detained on August 14 and the questioning was going on. At the same time, on August 31, he has been officially arrested. However, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne has said in this regard, "Australian officials contacted Anchor Cheng Lei via video link on Thursday."

The Foreign Minister also said that, 'Assistance will be continued to the journalist and his family. Australia was informed by Chinese authorities on August 14 that Anchor was detained, but for the first time a public statement was released on Monday. Australia says that China has refused to make this information public, what is the reason for the arrest.
