World number one Ashley Barty has made history. He has won the Australian Open for the first time. In the women's singles title clash on Saturday, she defeated Danielle Collins of the United States in straight sets. Barty has not let a single set go out of hand throughout the tournament.  Australian star Barty had dominated the 28-year-old Collins from the very beginning and easily took the first set 6-3.

After which in the second set, the American player tried to give some competition, but Barty has also won the second set 7-6 to win her third Grand Slam title. Barty had previously won the French Open in 2019 and the Wimbledon trophy in 2021.

According to media reports, Barty's win-loss record at the Australian Open is now 24-8. He had travelled to the semi-finals of the tournament in 2022 where he has suffered a defeat at the hands of American youngster Sophia Kenin. It is also being said that Ashley Barty has become the first Australian player to win the Australian Open since 1978. Chris O' Neill has won the title for the last time.
