New Delhi: International cricket came to a standstill after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Pakistan. But now it seems that these dark clouds over Pak cricket are beginning to clear. The Sri Lankan team is visiting Pakistan this year. After that another team has announced to come to Pakistan. The Australian team is expected to visit Pakistan in the year 2022. Cricket Australia's chief executive Kevin Roberts has expressed the hope that the Australian team will visit Pakistan in 2022.

Kevin Roberts and Australian Cricket Board Security Head Sean Kerol had recently visited Pakistan, where he had met officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board in Lahore to talk about the three years later. A high-level meeting was held between Cricket Australia and PCB officials. In this meeting, it has been decided that Australia team can go to Pakistan after two decades.

Talking to Australian media, Kevin Roberts has said that in terms of security, Pakistan still has two years to fix the security system here, so that the safety of the players and support staff remains. Cricket Australia's chief executive said that we do not want to rush for this tour. Things are going in the right direction. We were traveling in armored vehicles, including the police escort with us. We felt quite safe there, but there is still much to be done about security. We hope that by 2022, conditions will be good. Australia last came to play Pakistan series in 1998.
