Autism is no more an unusual incident to our society of “westernising literates”. With the increased trend of alcoholism in our country, several disorders which earlier prevailed rarely, are spreading wings at a rapid pace, counting along Autism.

Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder which more than anything require awareness.

It may be caused due to genetic or environmental factors.

Autism can have its onset from early childhood. There have also been cases where the individual reached the peaks of its career and then the circumstances worsened.

According to reports, what majorly is encouraging autism in our society, is alcohol consumption.

Alcohol or drug consumption, or even considering infections like Rubella, during pregnancy, majorly interfere with the development of the foetus, and cause obstacles to its development, leading to such complications.

Further, autism cannot be classified by a set of symptoms. Generally speaking, autism can be mainly classified by certain behavioural patterns like not responding to common gestures like smile, anger etc. The patient may not even respond to his or her name being called.

The most disheartening fact about autism is that it has no cure, there are still cases of recovery.

Autistic people need care, they need to be accepted with their difference and not isolated, considering them defected.
