On Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal introduced 100 new buses with hydraulic lift, CCTV camera, and panic buttons. Earlier this month, the government had launched 100 new buses. In Delhi, these buses are being brought under the scheme to add 1000 new buses, out of which 329 buses have been added since August. It is settled standard floor buses.
It is to be noted that 470 new low-floor buses will be run under Delhi Transport Corporation by May next year. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has talked about the elimination of many problems by these buses. Let us say that with these new buses, the number of cluster buses running in Delhi has crossed 2000. The total number of them has been 2008 units, which is going to increase in the coming months. The new buses brought to Delhi have also been fitted with GPS trackers, panic buttons, CCTV and hydraulic lift for the differently-abled. It is a special bus with state-of-the-art facilities.
Along with this, the women will soon have to travel to the metro for free. A few months ago, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced this, it can be taken up soon. Shortly before, the journey of women in DTC and cluster buses was made free in Delhi. For this, marshals were also deployed in buses and pink tickets are being given for free travel.
