New Delhi: The Civil Aviation Ministry has decided to increase the Aviation Security Fee. Aviation security fees will be increased in both domestic and international flights. This will make air travel a bit expensive. Due to this, airfares can be expensive from September 1. According to the information given by the authorities, aviation security fees in domestic flights will now increase to Rs 160. At the same time, it will increase to $ 5.2 in international aircraft.

Airlines charge aviation security fees during ticket booking on behalf of the customer and pass it on to the government. Aviation security fees are used to protect airports across the country. The aviation ministry had also increased this fee last year. On June 7, 2019, the ministry said that domestic passengers would be charged Rs 150 instead of Rs 130 as aviation security fees.

Similarly, international travelers will have to pay $ 4.85 instead of $ 3.25 for aviation security fees from July 1, 2019. Air travel has also been limited due to the lockdown to prevent coronavirus infection. This has greatly affected the earnings of the airlines. The corona epidemic has had the greatest impact on the travel, tourism and aviation sectors.
