New Delhi:  In a collaborative effort to revolutionize health research, the Ministry of Ayush and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have united to establish the Ayush-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrative Health Research (AI-ACIHR) at AIIMS locations all over India, introducing it in stages.

The primary objective of these centers is to cultivate a dynamic and thriving ecosystem of integrative health research by seamlessly merging traditional medicinal knowledge with modern bio-medicine and cutting-edge technology. The ultimate goal is to provide people with holistic and integrated healthcare solutions. Emphasizing high-impact research, this joint endeavor aims to produce valuable evidence in areas of national significance for healthcare, making use of the latest scientific approaches.

A significant step in this direction was taken on July 19, 2023, as the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, and ICMR held an interactive meeting with directors and representatives from various AIIMS institutions.

The meeting served as an engaging platform for brainstorming, allowing experts to chart a course for conducting health research and driving the initiative to shape Integrative health research in the country.

Eminent personalities present at the event included Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary DHR and DG, ICMR, and Padmashri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. Accompanying them were senior officials from the Ministry, ICMR, and CCRAS, collectively contributing to the success of the interactive meeting.
