The court has rejected the objection filed by the Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan, his legislator wife Dr. Tazin Fatma and son Abdullah, in connection with the fraud in Sitapur Jail. The MP and his son will now remain in Sitapur Jail. However, in the case of Dr. Tajin Fatma, wife of the MP, the court has freed the administration to take this decision. If the administration wishes, the MLA Dr. Tajin can be shifted to Rampur Jail.
Azam Khan will remain in Sitapur jail, dismisses the petition for jail shifting
MP Azam Khan and his family are lodged in Sitapur Jail in a fraud case. This case is about making two birth proofs of his son Abdullah Azam. In the same case, the court ordered attachment of all three when they were not present. After this, on 26 February 2020, the MP, his wife, and son surrendered in the fraud case. The court sent all three to judicial custody Rampur district jail. At 5 in the morning of 27 February 2020, the three were shifted to Sitapur Jail.

A lawyer for MP Azam Khan had filed an objection in the court regarding the sudden jail shifting. The advocate said that the MP and his family have been shifted to Sitapur Jail in a manner against the rules. It has not even taken permission from the court. On the other hand, the prosecution said that the MP and his family were shifted due to security reasons. The court ruled in this case on Wednesday. District government advocate Civil Ajay Tiwari and assistant district government advocate Faujdari Ram Otar Singh Saini said that the court has rejected the objection of the MP's advocate.
