Baburaj is feeling carefully optimistic. His critically acclaimed role in his recent movie with Fahadh Faasil is opening up opportunities for him, including his current Tamil-Telugu bilingual drama with Vishal in the lead. The film, tentatively titled V31 is helmed by debutant Thu Pa Saravanan and is ?an interesting and innovative story?, which has him playing a central character, albeit a negative one.

?Vishal apparently watches all of Fahadh Faasil?s movies and that is how I came into his radar for this one,? says Baburaj. The film progresses along three tracks, with the stories of Vishal, that of the female character, portrayed by Dimple Hayati, and then Baburaj?s character. ?The three stories are moving to the one solution, and it is only in the second half that our characters confront each other before reaching the conclusion,? he says.

The actor plays an MP?s son, who is a businessman and has political ambitions of his own. ?While he is the antagonist, he has his justifications for the way in which he behaves,? says Baburaj, who joined the shoot in Hyderabad about a week back. Vishal?s character is someone who has just received police selection.

A photo at the gym with wife and yesteryear actress Vani Vishwanath went viral on social media recently, but Baburaj says that the picture was uploaded without Vani?s knowledge. ?She has totally shunned the limelight and is dedicated to the children?s upbringing now. There are always requests for her to come back and listen to script narrations, but she will have none of it. She barely even poses for a family photo. The kids coaxed her into this gym picture and told me to upload it,? he says.
