MegastarAmitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu reunited on the big screen for the mystery thriller, Badla. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is produced by Shah Rukh Khan under his production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, the movie also features Amrita Singh.  Badla is highly awaited as its trailer had garnered a lot of buzz amongst the audience.

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has so far pulled mystery thriller quite perfectly. Badla starts off with Amitabh Bachchan's character Badal Gupta prepping for his case to save Naina Sethi from the murder charge. What starts then is an interesting, engaging, intriguing and taut ride.

Ghosh’s major contribution is to swap the genders of the main characters. It is a woman, now, who is accused of murdering her lover, and a male lawyer who rehearses the case with her to ensure that her defence is watertight.

Talking about story, Taapsee Pannu is Naina, a married businesswoman who gets involved in an accident along with her lover, Arjun (Tony Luke). The accident has links with Arjun’s murder, which are gradually revealed over the conversations between Naina and her lawyer, Badal (Amitabh Bachchan).

Talking about the acting, Amitabh Bachchan is at the top of his game. His aura and charisma is second to none and he shows it here. Taapsee Pannu is a complete natural. However, it is Amrita Singh's performance that has won me over so far.

The background score is good, the cinematography is beautiful and the editing is sharp. Dialogues are good and there is a tinge of humour in it, especially those spoken by Amitabh Bachchan.
