Bakrid celebrated in Kerala in a simple way with social distancing

Thiruvananthapuram: The Muslim community has just celebrated the celebration of Bakrid on Friday, following the strict health guidelines laid down by the government amid the Corona epidemic crisis in Kerala. According to the guidelines, hundred people are allowed entry into large mosques, but it has become mandatory to follow strict health protocols regarding social distancing rules, wearing face masks and using sanitizers. People are not allowed to offer Namaz in the mosques of prohibited areas.

There is no permission of Namaz in the huge Idgahs this year due to Corona epidemic. The famous sweets market of Kozhikode, which was full of excitement during the festival of Eid, was deserted because it comes in prohibited area. Greeting the Eid festival, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said to all Keralites, "It is a wish that the festival of Bakrid which celebrates the glory of eternal faith and sacrifice in the Almighty is for all of us in love, compassion and mutual support. Through the medium, keep us united in our regular life and our war against Corona". CM Pinarayi Vijayan also wished the people on this occasion.

Bakrid has special importance in Islam. According to the belief of Islamic religion, Hazrat Ibrahim sacrificed his son Hazrat Ismail on the orders of God on this day in the path of God. After seeing his passion, God gave life to his son. This festival is celebrated in memory of the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim. After this, with the command of Allah, Islamic law was introduced to sacrifice animals in place of humans.
