A grenade attack in Balochistan's Dera Allahyar town injured at least 17 persons, including two police officers.

Unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at Subatpur Chowk on Sunday, injuring 17 people, including two traffic police constables,  the police said. After the explosion, security staff hurried to the scene and took the injured to a hospital. At least four of the injured were in critical condition, according to hospital officials. "We've evacuated the critically injured persons to Larkana," a senior police officer stated, adding that the officers could be targeted.

The blast led police to launch an investigations. The grenade attack, however, has yet to be attributed to anyone. Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, both condemned the attack as a terrorist act.

They did emphasise, however, that the forces attempting to cause havoc would never succeed in their malicious plans and would be brought to justice shortly. They stated that the government will continue to uphold its obligation to protect residents' lives and property.
