Islamabad: In Balochistan, Pakistan, violence erupted as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) conducted a series of attacks in the Mach area, claiming to have killed 45 Pakistani Army soldiers. The provincial government reported that security forces successfully thwarted the BLA attacks in March, during which BLA fighters attempted to besiege Mach city, resulting in intense gunfire.
The BLA advocates for the armed struggle for Balochistan's independence, while Pakistan designates it as a terrorist organization.
Ziand Baloch, a spokesperson for the Baloch Liberation Army, stated that in a major operation under Operation Dara-e-Bolan, they killed at least 45 Pakistani Army personnel in Bolan district on Monday night. The BLA also claimed to have seized key locations, including the jail complex and railway station in Mach city. Baloch emphasized that Operation Dara-e-Bolan would continue, and anyone hindering it would face consequences.
Jan Achakzai, Information Minister in Balochistan's caretaker government, reported that security forces successfully thwarted three coordinated terrorist attacks in the Mach area on Monday night. The attacks were attributed to the Aslam Acho group. Fortunately, there were no casualties among security forces or damage to any establishments. The terrorists retreated, and security forces are in pursuit, aiming to eliminate all threats by Tuesday morning.
