Varanasi: While the violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) have ended in the country, the student demonstrations are still going on across the country. After the students' demonstrations at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the professors have also opened their front against the act.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) professors opposed the law by running a signature campaign. A press release has also been issued by 51 professors against the Citizenship Amendment Act. And has demanded the withdrawal of citizenship law. Along with this, the professors have also favored the performance of students in Jamia Islamia University, Aligarh Muslim University, and other educational institutions in the country.

Earlier a student who came to the 101st Convocation of BHU refused to take a degree as a protest against CAA. The Student Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the NRC were unhappy with the arrest of their peers during protests. Rajat Singh, a student of MA History of Art, categorically refused to take the degree, saying that "we oppose all such communal laws which are disruptive".
