Bangalore: PM Modi unveils Ambedkar's statue at BASE

Karnataka:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting Karnataka for a two-day visit, unveiled 125-feet tall statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar at the Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) in Bangalore.

The Prime Minister also dedicated a new BASE University campus.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi also unveiled 150 'Technology Hubs,' which were created by revamping Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Karnataka at a cost of over Rs 4,600 crore and are backed by a wide range of business partners.

The Technology Hubs aim to develop a qualified workforce to meet Industry 4.0 staffing requirements, the PMO said. These Technology Hubs will provide high-skill training in cutting-edge technology and increase job and entrepreneurship options for ITI graduates through their different creative courses.

When the Prime Minister arrived in Bengaluru, he first visited the Indian Institute of Science's Centre for Brain Research.

The Centre is being built as a one-of-a-kind research facility with the goal of undertaking critical research in order to develop evidence-based public health strategies to treat age-related brain illnesses.
