Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo wants to create an atmosphere in the team where players talk openly on issues related to physical and mental aspects. Domingo also wants that he expects complete honesty from the players about his mental health. He told Cricbuzz, "As far as mental fatigue is concerned, I want the players to be honest in this matter and they should openly speak."
"Not all players find themselves comfortable talking about these aspects, but we want to create an environment where our team, our players, talk openly on how they are feeling and whether they should be rested," Domingo said. And whether it is a physical or mental issue.
The issue of mental health of cricketers came to light when Glenn Maxwell of Australia took rest from the game to deal with his unknown problems. After this, young batsman Nick Madison also passed through this phase. England players such as Steve Harmison, Marcus Trescothick and Graeme Fowler have also gone through a period of depression.
