Flames swept over a Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, destroying hundreds of homes. There have been no reports of casualties so far. The fire was reported at Camp 16 in Cox's Bazar, a border district that hosts over a million Rohingya refugees, according to reports.
In 2017, the majority of them fled Myanmar due to a military crackdown. The fire was put out by emergency workers, but the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained. It should be noted that another fire was recorded in a COVID-19 refugee treatment centre in the district last Sunday.
It should be noted that in March of last year, at least 15 people died and 50,000 people were displaced in Bangladesh when a similar fire burned many Rohingya houses.
