Bengaluru: A large number of people's homes have been washed away due to the collapse of the dam of Hulimavu lake in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. It is being told that these people living in the southern region were quite shocked at that time. Even without rain, their houses were heavily flooded. People had to evacuate their homes and move to a safe place.

According to officials, two-wheelers and several vehicles were also washed away due to this sudden flood. These 250 families are being evacuated to safer places. City Mayor M Gautam Kumar said that the lake dam was broken when excavation was going on to lay the pipeline with the help of Earthmover machine. Work is also being done to provide food to homeless people. The Mayor said that the officials of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palika (BBMP) are doing relief and rescue work.

After visiting the area, BBMP Commissioner BH Anil Kumar said that arrangements have been made to stay at the stadium and community hall for the families affected by the flooding. Apart from the way the area is flooded, teams of NDRF and SDRF have been involved in relief and rescue operations.
