NPA of Non-Performing Assets of Bank of Baroda, which is among the biggest banks in India, increased by 6 times to Rs 73,140 crore, while in the six years of Indian Bank it has increased four times to Rs 32,561.26 crore. This information is revealed in response to a question asked under RTI.

These savings schemes will get less interest than before

In response to RTI, it was told that the NPA of Bank of Baroda (BoB) increased from Rs 11,876 crore in March-end of year 2014 to Rs 73,140 crore in December-end of 2019.

On 31 March 2014, the number of NPA accounts was 2,08,035, which increased to 6,17,306 by December 2019. Similarly, the NPA of Indian Bank was Rs 8,068.05 crore as on 31 March 2014, which increased to Rs 32,561.26 crore by 31 March 2020. Regarding the NPA accounts and total amount filed by quota based activist Sujit Swamy, an RTI reply stated that as of March 31, 2014, there were 2,48,921 NPA accounts, which increased to 5 by March 31, 2020.
