Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, has declared that banks in the state would be allowed to stay open for longer. Banks in the state will now be open until 5 p.m. The new rule will take effect on September 2nd.

"From tomorrow, the state's banks will be able to operate longer. It will be operational till 5 p.m. tomorrow "she stated

Banks are generally open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with all private and public banks and remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each week.
