Berlin: Mads Pedersen and Andre Hahn scored in the first half to give Augsburg a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga's 12th round opener here. Bayern made a strong start to the match on Friday night and had a chance to break the stalemate after seven minutes, but Omar Richards' shot from inside the area was blocked. As the game clock ran down, Augsburg reacted well to Bayern's early chance and constructed a well-positioned barrier.

The Fuggerstadter then stunned Bayern with an early goal in the 23rd minute, when Andi Zeqiri's excellent build-up and cross into the box allowed Pedersen to drive home the opening goal into the top right corner.

Bayern lacked precision in the final third, allowing Augsburg to make it two when Zeqiri dispossessed Marcel Sabitzer before feeding Hahn, who nodded home the 2-0 lead in the 35th minute. After Robert Lewandowski took advantage of Thomas Muller's back-heel lay-up, the German record champs reacted with fierce attacks and eventually reduced the lead three minutes later.
