Mumbai: BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly has indicated that IPL will be held soon amid Corona epidemic. He said today that the brainstorming on possible options for IPL is going on. He said that a tournament can be held without spectators. Earlier, BCCI postponed the IPL to be held indefinitely from March 29 due to the Corona crisis. The -20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year may also be postponed.

Sourav Ganguly said that a decision will be taken soon regarding the IPL. Earlier recently, Ganguly had said that the board would suffer a loss of about Rs 4 thousand crore due to the cancellation of the IPL. He said that recently many Indian and foreign players have expressed their desire to play in the IPL. With this, fans, franchises, players, broadcasters, sponsors and all the stakeholders expect IPL to happen this year. In such a situation, the BCCI will soon take a decision regarding the future of IPL.

In a letter to all concerned institutions, Ganguly said that the BCCI is engaged in preparing the Corona Virus Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) for all state cricket associations. Through these guidelines, all associations will be able to start cricket in their respective regions. He said that BCCI is trying to start domestic cricket and training in the next two months. Earlier, the ICC held a virtual meeting on Wednesday about the T20 World Cup. In this, the decision regarding the World Cup has been postponed for a month.
