BCCI will pay 4800 crores to former IPL franchise Deccan Chargers on SC's orders

In a major setback to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Supreme Court has ordered it to pay Rs 4800 crore to the expelled IPL franchise. The decision in this regard has been made by an arbitrator appointed by the Supreme Court, while the claim in this regard has been made by the counsel of Deccan Chronicles Holding Limited (DCHL). The arbitrator has also termed the expulsion of Team Deccan Chargers by the BCCI as illegal.

With this decision, the problems of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been increased by the Supreme Court. According to media reports, Maneesha Dhir, managing partner of Dhir & Dhir Associates, said that on Friday, the sole arbitrator of the case termed the eviction as illegal. Deccan Chronicles Holding Limited (DCHL) has been ordered to pay a total of Rs 4790 with a total amount of Rs 630 crore and Rs 4160 crore.

Maneesha Dhir further informed about this that, under the agreement, Rs 36 crore has also been provided to DCHL as dues. Deccan Chargers had been a part of the IPL since the beginning of the IPL. The second team of the IPL was named by this team. In the year 2012, it was shown the way out and in its place in 2013, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team was introduced which is still a part of IPL.
